Teaching Referrals

I just wanted to drop you a note to tell you how impressed I am with your Pro Guitar course. In the last six weeks my knowledge of the fretboard has increased dramatically; a solid foundation that I haven't managed to achieve before I started learning from you. After trying out 6 teachers in the last 4 years, I believe I'm finally learning how to play the guitar! If I just keep doing what you tell me to do, I'm confident that I'll achieve my goals.

Cheers!
Derek

I have been studying guitar music for nine years under the tutelage of Mike Fagan of London, Canada . Mike is a graduate of the Musicians Institute in California. Mike makes learning guitar fun. There is three courses to choose from, campfire, electric guitar garage rock, and professional guitar. What I like about Mike's teaching method is that he has an actual program that the student follows. Theory, guitar techniques, jamming and most importantly ear training. Mike has studied and now employs the Dick Grove system of ear training to his students. If you want to go deep into your guitar musicianship, Mike Fagan can take you there.

I would highly recommend Mike as a guitar teacher who can help all players and skill levels. He is sensitive to your developmental goals, whether you want to play some covers alone or are significantly more ambitious, and will adjust his teaching accordingly. He's put effort into developing a useful online teaching tool that can help guide your learning in between lessons and keep your practice on track.

To a future Student;

I am a 55 year old guy that was looking for a new hobby to enjoy for the rest of my life. Without any musical knowledge or training I decided that studying music and learning to play the guitar would absolutely be what I needed. I have been studying with Mike for five years and could not be happier with my experience. Mike is a true professional and a very patient teacher who continually communicates with the utmost clarity. Mike's pedigree is next to none. It's obvious that he's trained at the highest level and thus possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with his students.

Learning to play the guitar is challenging at any age and requires discipline and dedication to stay the course. However, Mike has been able to improve the learning process for his students. He does so by leveraging his unique, customizable computer training program which makes it much easier and more efficient for both learning and practicing. With Mike's program you can learn any genre of music for the guitar and practice at a pace you can handle. The program works for beginners and advanced players alike. As your skills grow Mike can adjust the pace and the difficulties of the pieces you're working on to ensure you're continually challenged and growing. Before you know it, you'll be playing more challenging pieces at a faster pace due to the systems that Mike employs. His systems works unbelievably well, enabling you to reach your goals of playing your music at a concert level or along with the artist record as quickly and as accurately as any student could hope for.

Mike has the amazing ability to take a piece of guitar music by your favorite artist, from resources like You Tube, the album itself, written music, or transcriptions and break it down into manageable sections for you. Mike is able to put these sections into his program for you to play along with. This enables the student to play the correct notes, play at the proper tempo, and learn all those nuances of each piece of music.

Mike's commitment to my success and his effective training system is a major reason that I have been able to improve and enjoy this amazing journey of playing guitar and learning music. So whether you are young or old, or even a seasoned player looking for that extra advantage to improve at the professional level then you need to spend time with Mike Fagan.

Hey Mike, Hope you're doing well! Just wanted to say hi from Leuven, Belgium, (where i'm doing my MA in Philosophy) and also to let you know that i've been practicing guitar, and playing/ writing songs daily. Your lessons really helped my ability to write music, without me even really realising how much I was learning/improving!

All the best

I am the mother of a young singer named Tyler Edwards. We were blessed to meet Mike in Dec. of 2006. Mike has been Tyler's voice coach ever since and also guitar teacher in the past few months. Tyler has aspirations of becoming a singing star. Over the past year that we have been working with Mike this dream of Tylers' is unfolding before him.

As well as being Tyler's vocal coach and guitar teacher, Mike very quickly became Tyler's friend. Mike has been wonderful with him and at times has been tough but only when needed to be. He has always shown tremendous professionalism and his talent is astounding. Since Mike has been in this industry for many years he understands it, and is able to give good advice on avoiding pitfalls. He has given Tyler and us, his parents, very much appreciated advice and information.

Tylers talent has soared in the time he has been working with Mike.

If you are reading this and are wondering if Mike Fagan is the right teacher for your son or daughter, take it from me as a mom that he is worth every penny and more.

I am so glad he is on our side and we are proud to call him our friend.

Sincerely,
Mati Edwards

Mike Fagan has been working with my 16 year old daughter Sara for over a year as her guitar teacher. Since Mike provides parents the opportunity to sit in on the lesson, I have seen first hand his caring and skillful teaching methods applied with Sara. Consequently, she has really become a dedicated and devoted student with a desire to pursue a career in music post-secondary. Although her playing talents have really improved, I am most impressed with the rise in her level of self-confidence. In fact, she played her first live solo performance last week at her high school. I really could not have imagined Sara with the courage or confidence to have tried this a year ago. I would certainly not hesitate to recommend Mike Fagan to anyone as a teacher.
